Alan Stewart is a two-time award winning harmonica artist and is accomplished on the steel drum as well. He’s played all over the United States but shared his country and island music here for many years as a member of the island legends, the ‘Beach Bums’. He’s currently performing around the valley with Robert Schwab and the Over the Hill band, as well as with the Bushriders Dave Band.
Andrew Minkler has shared his talents as a classical guitarist and vocalist in the island area for over 30 years. He is a multi-instrumentalist, playing horns, guitars, and keyboards.

Anubis Morrison’s sound can be classified as modern progressive grunge rock drawing influences from Phil Collins, Sting, Alice In Chains, Ankla, Incubus, Days of The New and STP. His sound ranges from very mellow Acoustic songs to a very Hard Rock grungy progressive sound.
Brett Marshall’s music is a combination of piano led pop, influenced by his love of the golden age of crooning. His smooth baritone vocals and natural showmanship are surpassed only by his mastery of the piano. With his classical training and love of blues, gospel and jazz pianists, he is a pleasure for all audiences.

Catherine Grimes: SPI was lucky to be the beneficiary when this talented songbird emigrated from Austin, where she worked as a session vocalist for several artists, as well as a back-up singer for numerous bands. Quickly tagged “The Island Songbird”, her beautiful vocals complement her peers and create magic on the solo stage!
Chi-Town Sher: (aka Sherry Katz) Singer, Songwriter, and passionate bass player, Sher has lent her talents to accompany many island performers.
Chris Rivera Band, formed in 1982, plays throughout South Texas. Its influences include ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Johnny Winter.

Gene Sibley is a relative newcomer to the island music scene, but is already a local favorite. This innovative guitar synthesist, showman, and vocalist has been performing rock, rhythm and blues for almost 60 years. He thought he would slow down when he lost his sight. It didn’t happen.
I Ching Gatos: is a variety band that plays covers of classic songs as well as locally flavored originals with upbeat enthusiasm.

J. Micheal Laferty, a benchmark artist in the Americana, Trop Rock, Texas Music market, performs regularly at his famous PadreRitaGrill on the island. Jake Castillo Trio: The Jake Castillo Trio is an Original San Antonio Band blending blues, progressive jazz and good old fashioned rock and roll into heartfelt original songs that are personally revealing and often tell stories of true life experiences.
Jamie Whetstone: Jamie is a jazz-trained pianist/vocalist from the Columbus, Ohio area. Even though jazz and soul are where her true passions lie, she’s performed anything from jazz standards to Billy Joel to ACDC, as well as kitschy songs like “Psycho Killer,” “It’s Raining Men,” “Devil Went Down to Georgia,” and much, much more. She’s performed solo, in a dueling piano duo, and in several combo and band formations – playing a wide variety of music.

Jenuine Cello, aka Jen Mulhern, is a captivating model of a modern one-woman band. Her live compositions take listeners on a road trip free from genre, saturated with an array of influences. With undercurrents of Bach, Bjork and everything in between, her music combines classically-infused inspiration with raw textures to create a unique sound of layered soulful puzzle pieces. Equipped with a cello and a mic, a somewhat beat-up looping pedal, a 6-string electric cello and knack for glitchy self-made beats, Jen Mulhern creates a symphony of spontaneous sound painting that pulls at the soul and awakens an ancient desire to howl at the moon.

Over the Hill Band: After a 17 year sabbatical, guitarist and vocalist Robby Schwab has returned to his roots and teamed up with SPI icon and two-time award winning harmonica player Alan Stewart to form the Over the Hill Band. Rock Island is a group of local icons led by Chuck Comeaux who has gathered the best percussionists and guitarists in the area to bring you great classic rock from the 60’s through the 90’s, as well as a little reggae and some great originals.
Rockstar Denied is a five piece Top 40 Variety Party Band with some 80’s Retro/Rock, 70’s Classic Rock, Disco, and International integrated.
Roland Z has been sharing his live one-man show with the island for the past 12 years. He plays a variety of hits from the 70’s and 80’s as well as country favorites, enhanced by his sequenced backing tracks that he creates during his shows.

Spazmatics: If you want to be sent back to the 80’s, The Spazmatics are the ultimate experience. The band lends it’s geeky charm to performing 80’s hits complete with “nerdography” and “spaztic” movements. They add a unique dimension to their performance, demonstrating the common ties between 80’s new wave and today’s popular music.
SPI Pan: Escape to the Caribbean islands with SPI Pan and the authentic steel drum sounds that originate from the islands of Trinidad & Tobago. This unique island sound is sure to put a smile on your face. SPI Pan performs the music of the Caribbean and Latin America including calypso, soca, reggae, samba, bossa nova, and more! Based in the lower Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, SPI Pan’s instrumentation is comprised of steel drums, bass guitar, and drums. SPI Pan can be seen on a regular basis at the Isla Grand Resort on South Padre Island pool side by the Whiskey Shack from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends during the summer.

Zach Coffey is bringing something completely different to the Texas Country scene. Growing up in Oklahoma allowed him to experience, first-hand, the Red Dirt movement that started in Stillwater. He grew up singing on various Opry stages and honed his vocal skills by performing opera music while at Oklahoma Baptist University. His love for popular country and knowledge of the “classical” era blends with his Red Dirt roots for a sound that is uniquely “Zach Coffey”.
